TarragonaFor the third consecutive year, the Tarragona Provincial Council's School and Conservatory of Music is organizing Summer Notes, a series of events that combine specialized training in music pedagogy with concerts for the general public.

These events aim to reflect on the value of musical education in today's society and to share the connections established with the world. The central theme of the events is how music can become the connecting link between spirituality, the technological world, and creativity in music education.

The program for the 2025 edition of Summer Notes includes three concerts open to the general public and six training sessions for music teaching professionals and students in the final years of advanced and professional degrees. From June 25th to 27th, there will be three full days at the Provincial Council Auditorium to debate and reflect on the role of music education and its connections to creativity and knowledge.

Ramon Humet is this year's guest composer. A widely recognized and award-winning musician based in Camp de Tarragona, his work is closely related to meditative, transcendent, and spiritual nature. In the opening concert, Ramon Humet will present his music, which will be performed by the Moreno Gistaín Duo and the MUOM vocal group. The Cosmos Quartet, one of the country's finest string quartets, will complete the concert program.

Regarding the professional sessions, Álvaro Zaldívar, professor of Music History; Begoña Folch, teacher trainer; Samuel Pacheco, neuropsychologist; and Ramon Andrés and Pep Gorgori, musicologists, are the featured speakers for this year's event. The sessions are aimed at music teaching professionals and aim to provide attendees with tools to face the future challenges of music pedagogy.

Connection of music with spirituality

Summer Notes is a project launched by the Tarragona Provincial Council's Music Conservatory and is intended as a comprehensive program designed to generate debate and contribute to reflection within the music education community. It is a space for reflection, debate, and inspiration through lectures, workshops, discussions, and concerts. This year's edition, under the theme "Between Music and You," focuses on the connection between music and spirituality as a transformative element of society and music education.
