The state of euphoria is consolidated in Sabadell

BarcelonaA state of euphoria has settled at the Nova Creu Alta. Sabadell claims its third victory of the season –all of them at home– and consolidates its position in the upper part of the standings. The team from the Vallès region is one of the great revelations of this term in the Second Division and, this Sunday, they also defeated Oviedo (3-1). They did so without forward Nicholas Gioacchini, who will be away from the pitch for several months due to an injury.

Few rivals can resist Ferran Costa's team, which has only lost one match so far – in Mallorca – since their return to the second division. The latest victim of the Sabadell side was Julián Calero's Oviedo, which has not started the season on the right foot. In front of a Nova Creu Alta that looked impressive – 9,053 people – two headers were enough to add three more points to the standings. And that makes 11 in six matchdays.

Gastón Valles headed home a cross from Joel Priego to unleash euphoria in Sabadell and break the deadlock on the scoreboard. The arlequinada fans are living a dream; few fans would have imagined such a start to the season. Ferran Costa's team was enjoying themselves on the pitch and the people were doing the same in the stands against an opponent that, just a few months ago, was two categories above the Vallesans; the Asturians were competing in the First Division, and the Catalans, in the First Federation. But in football, everything eventually evens out and, before reaching halftime, Óscar Sanz made it 2-0 after heading in a corner taken by Ton Ripoll.

Despite this, in the Second Division there are no affordable matches; suffering is the order of the day. Oviedo has not started the League well, but they have quality in their squad. A fact that the Nova Creu Alta experienced firsthand after a great individual play by Estanis Pedrola –also helped by rebounds–, which ended with a great shot from the Catalan winger to narrow the gap on the scoreboard.

A suffering that lasted little at the Nova Creu Alta. The Vallesans did not want any scares and Ángel Baena took advantage of a cross back from Liameed to bring tranquility back to the pitch and the stands with the 3-1. Sabadell no longer surprises anyone. Almeria, Cordoba, and now Oviedo. Three victories in six matches from a team that surpasses itself with each passing day. The Catalans have returned to the Second Division eager to put up a big fight.
