The ridiculousness of Barça

The announcement of Nico Williams's contract extension with Athletic Bilbao until 2035 has taken Barça by surprise and sparked the classic, masculine debate about whether or not the Blaugrana club has made a fool of itself. According to the version already being floated by the Blaugrana club—which is, oh, very upset—it's that the agent is to blame. They say Félix Tainta didn't push hard enough to ensure his client ended up playing with his buddy Lamine at the new Camp Nou, for God's sake. It turns out that after traveling to Barcelona and meeting with Deco, he decided to ask for guarantees that Barça would be able to register him. But hey, who would think of that? After all, he had already confirmed that with Dani Olmo everything has gone smoothly, no problems, not even a single rumbling.

Dani Olmo was able to make his Barça debut three matchdays after the start of LaLiga thanks to Christensen being injured, and later it was the CSD who intervened with a precautionary measure after an unforgettable New Year's Eve. In short, it wasn't easy at all, since Williams' agent owes his services to the player and not to Barça, so taking into account the circumstances, the background and the history of Joan Laporta and company, it is logical that he would ask for guarantees that Nico could be registered and if not, he would be free to sign for whoever he wanted. Guarantees that Barça has been unable to provide.

After Laporta announced before the club's Senate that they were trying to make a very exciting signing—wink, wink—then Deco stated that the player wanted to sign with Barça, and Bilbao reported that Tainta had told Athletic that Williams wanted to wear Barça, at the last minute, before putting up the corresponding release clause, the agent had the idea of making sure there wouldn't be any problems registering him, the shady guy. Apparently, this went down badly with Barça because they needed the player to take a leap of faith, to leave his home, his brother, and his club because the president always pulls a rabbit out of a hat at the last minute, of course he does.

The ridiculous thing isn't that Nico Williams slammed the door on them, but that for the third year in a row, FC Barcelona still hasn't done its homework and is struggling to comply with the 1-for-1 rule. And everyone knows it, by the way.
