Girona“I always ask them the same thing: What is the party of your dreams? What is it that you want? And on the appointed day, the answer comes true for them”, explains Nuria Masgrau, a Barcelona native established in Banyoles who is in charge of creating the visual concept and designing 100% personalized events. Among the clients, “some already friends”, are different high-level athletes, such as some First Division footballers. “All I do is transform their ideas so they can live an unrepeatable moment with their loved ones”, she adds. Although it may seem that some live in a different world, they seek the same thing we all seek: happiness in the small details.

An event at Girona's stadium

Just fifteen years ago, her life was completely different. “I worked in a school, where I taught psychomotricity, but decoration and creativity had moved me since I was little and I trained. I started by doing my children's celebrations and the guests were amazed by the result. So they asked me to organize theirs. At first it was a hobby, I just did it as a favor. Until Silvia, a good friend, encouraged me to dedicate myself to it and we set up the company N&S Esdeveniments”, she values, satisfied.

“At home we are football fanatics. My son, Roger, insisted that it would be great to work with a player. He told me to try it with Marc Muniesa, who was at Girona at the time. But I had no idea how to approach him. And I opened it on Instagram, to propose organizing the first anniversary party of Pau, his son. When he answered me, it was like a buzz. I couldn't believe it,” Masgrau continues. “I admit I went to the meeting with fear. I didn't know what they would be like. Perhaps they would make me feel bad or small. And what happened, they surprised me very positively. They were lovely, he and Sara, his wife. They gave me absolute freedom, they made me feel on top of the world. Everything went smoothly: they liked it, they spread the word and recommended me to people in their circle. That's when the ball got big, it exploded in my face and I went into shock”.

Build trust and connection

He admits that footballers “have given me a name and a platform, but not all my clients are footballers, nor do they make it public, nor do they play for Girona, and they have the same value. There are people who don't post what they do on social media, and that's legitimate. My job is to treat them all the same, make them feel comfortable, have no worries, and get excited about the outcome”. The company's catalog, according to the consumer's taste, which includes basketball players, motorcycle racers, or personal trainers, includes different highly trusted providers. “It is important to take care of the details and strive for perfection”.

Masgrau assures that “the more I know the other person, the more personality the event has. I aim for when people enter the party, they recognize that the party belongs to that person. And this involves many conversations, entering their home, building a relationship of trust and a bond. To find the essence of each person, you have to know who you are dealing with”.

Sex revelations

Intimacy reaches very intense points. “I have had the honor of organizing sex reveals. I did it with Judith and Portu's child, for example. One day the gynecologist called me to tell me what it would be, so I could put blue or pink inside the balloon. That is to say, Portu didn't know the sex of his child and I did to throw him the party. It's very intense. He would cling to my back, asking me if it would be a boy or a girl, that I wouldn't tell anyone. I would answer him, ‘how do you want me to tell you?’ ‘What do you want, Judith to never speak to me again?’. When they found out it was a boy, they went wild with joy. Sharing that moment and seeing their faces was precious

She also has a strong bond with Samu Saiz and Elena Milla. “With her we have had very nice chats, about everything, about her journey. We cannot forget that the vast majority are not from here and the only family they have is football. The girls' friends are the partners of other footballers on the team. They move in a small circle in which, at most, the mothers of their children's classmates are also present. We are mistaken when we pigeonhole others. What is seen from the outside and what it is, once you're inside, has nothing to do with it”. Masgrau defines high-level athletes as “homebodies and family-oriented; if they weren't like that, they wouldn't be able to manage the fact that they are here today and there tomorrow, or have to constantly move their children from school because the father has changed teams. It's not easy, this

At the Masgrau home, football sentiments have also been a bit shaken. “We were all Barça fans, but with Girona's promotion, my husband, Miquel, became a member and is now a blanquirrojo. Roger, who is named after Roger García Junyent, imagine how much of a culé we are, he accuses him of being a sunflower”, confirms the businesswoman, proud of a life that fills her to the brim. “I would never have imagined that I would dedicate myself to what fascinates me. It's very beautiful, really. And magical”, she concludes.
