BarcelonaFirst defeat for Sabadell in the year of their return to the Second Division. Ferran Costa's team was defeated on the field of a Mallorca side that took advantage of two defensive errors by the Vallès team in the first half to take the three points and strengthen their position in front of their home crowd (2-0). The arlequinat team showed ambition against one of the favorites to climb to the First Division, but they lacked accuracy in attack to earn points on Mallorca's ground, where they have not won a league match since 1965.

The match was heavily conditioned by two serious defensive errors. Sabadell, with Baena playing as a starter on the wing for the first time, started with a very high defensive line. In fact, in the first few minutes, the possession belonged to the Catalan team, which kept moving the ball without posing a threat to the goal of the Catalan Arnau Tenas, one of the great protagonists of the match. The former Barça goalkeeper, in an action where Sabadell had brought their defenders up to finish, showed great vision by sending the ball to forward Adrián Fuentes, who was being defended only by Quadri. Fuentes positioned his body well and took advantage of Fuoli's exit to lob him. With a goal in their favor, Mallorca decided to wait in defense, launching counterattacks to try to do damage. The second goal, however, came from another arlequinada error, when Urri passed the ball to Fuoli. But they did not understand each other. And Fuentes appeared again to score the second. Sabadell tried, but only posed a threat in a good action by Baena that ended with a centered shot by Miki Codina that Tenas stopped.

Ferran Costa decided to shake up the match at halftime with four substitutions. And Sabadell continued to attack, with more possession than a Mallorca side that posed a threat on the counter, but they worked hard in defense to stop the Vallesans' attacks. Furthermore, one of the heroes of the previous season, López Pinto, who had been injured until now, returned to the pitch. Pipa brought life to the arlequinada right flank, but Mallorca's experienced defense protected Arnau at all times in a match where the Catalan side's ball dominance did not translate into clear chances. Mallorca, with craft and experience, brought a Sabadell side that dreamed of climbing the standings if they could pull off an upset back down to earth. They didn't manage it, but with eight points, they continue to sign off on a great start to the season. If two years ago Sabadell was playing a few kilometers away against Andratx, today they played without fear against Mallorca in a match where it became clear that if you make defensive errors in the Second Division, you pay dearly.
