Joan Gamper Trophy Guide Barcelona-Al-Ahly: schedule, where to watch it, and lineups
The blaugranes debut at the Camp Nou with the three new faces: Rodri, Adeyemi and Gordon
BarcelonaThis Wednesday, football returns to Camp Nou. More than three months after the victory against Betis (3-1), Barça is playing at home again. They will do so in the Joan Gamper Trophy against Egyptian Al-Ahly (8 PM) which will serve to present the new blaugrana squad. So far, there are three new faces available to Hansi Flick: Karim Adeyemi, Anthony Gordon and Rodri Hernández, recently made official.
João Cancelo will not be able to be there yet, who arrived in Barcelona on Monday but will not yet be available due to bureaucracy, as explained by Jijantes. Another of the new additions, who scored a goal against Basel the other day, is Jesse Bisiwu. The new blaugrana prospect could debut at Camp Nou, just like Hamza Abdelkarim, an Egyptian forward who is doing preseason with the first team after Barça executed the purchase option from Al-Ahly.
Before the ball starts rolling, Raphinha –chosen as provisional first captain by Hansi Flick– will address the fans, just as the German coach is also expected to do. It will be the first presentation of the coach's third season on the Barça bench and the last test before officially starting in La Liga next Sunday at Elche's ground (9:30 PM). Furthermore, the Joan Gamper Trophy will once again be held at Camp Nou after the last editions were held at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys and the Johan Cruyff stadium.
