Spain has more than 1.3 million swimming pools, making it the second country in Europe with the most facilities, second only to France. According to the 2025 Swimming Pool Sector Barometer prepared by ASOFAP, the sector grew by 5.2% in the first half of the year, a trend that could place its annual revenue above €1.6 billion. This year, artificial intelligence, energy efficiency, and automation are the key trends, driving smarter, more sustainable, and healthier aquatic facilities. Most projects incorporate specific technologies to reduce water and energy consumption, and Piscina Barcelona aims to highlight this progress with solutions such as saline chlorination, robotic pool cleaners, high-efficiency heat pumps, and automatic covers that minimize evaporation and heat loss. These innovations contribute to creating cleaner and more efficient swimming pools, in a context where they represent only 1% of water consumption in Spain. Environmental commitment and recognition of innovation
