Sport, nature and adventure all year round in La Molina

The FGC mountain resort extends the summer season until October 5 and offers a wide range of activities for all ages.

When we think of La Molina, we often imagine snow-covered slopes, skiers hurtling down at high speeds, and a winter atmosphere. But this Girona resort is much more than that. When the warmer weather arrives, the resort transforms into a setting full of activities for all ages: sports activities such as hiking and biking surrounded by nature, gastronomic experiences, and family plans. Located in the heart of Cerdanya, this FGC Turisme mountain resort is a privileged destination for enjoying active tourism 365 days a year.

La Molina will be open every weekend in September, as well as during the long weekend for the Diada (National Day) on the 11th, and will conclude the summer season on October 5th. The closing ceremony will be one of the most anticipated events on the mountain sports calendar: the prestigious Salomon Ultra Pirineu. On Friday, October 3rd, the traditional La Molina Nit Pirineu 2025 will take place, a vertical race at sunset that has already become an unmissable event.

The great summer classic in La Molina is the ride in the Cadí-Moixeró gondola lift, an experience in itself that allows you to enjoy spectacular views and access the high mountains. This year it only reaches section 1 due to construction work on the Niu de l'Àliga. However, it remains the starting point for many routes and activities. Easy hikes can be undertaken with specialized guides or venture on longer excursions to enjoy the Pyrenean surroundings.

Still in terms of hiking options, the most notable are the wildlife interpretation routes and Free Nature Circuit and Mines Circuit routes, organized in collaboration with the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park.

Bike Park

Bicycle lovers have a real paradise in the Bike Park La Molina, with 13 downhill circuits for all levels, a Cross Country circuit and the fun Wood Park. This season has seen the addition of a specific track to host the championships, the Comella DH, designed for riders The Bike Park has become a true reference point for downhill and enduro mountain bike enthusiasts.

La Molina also offers other facilities for practicing sports while enjoying the impressive views of the Pyrenees, such as the paddle tennis court.

Downhill Mountain Bike Championships

This summer, La Molina Bike Park hosted the Catalan and Spanish Downhill (DH) Championships from July 18-20, with more than 250 riders , and the European Championship from August 1-3, with 425 specialists from 27 nationalities. With these events, La Molina Bike Park consolidates its position as the national and European epicenter of this spectacular discipline.

The lake

In summer, the recreational area located next to the Lake La Molina It offers a diverse and ideal setting for spending time with family or friends, surrounded by nature and fun. Featured activities include water bikes, a unique experience pedaling on the water; water scooters; kayaks; and electric children's bikes for the little ones.

There's also a fitness track, a free volleyball court, and a 9-basket disc golf course.

Adventures for the little ones

One of La Molina's great attractions in the summer is that it has become an ideal destination for families. There are plenty of activities for the little ones: tubbing, to launch down slides with giant floats, the heated pool, the trampolines and the Treetop Adventure Park.

One of the new features this year has been the Metapark, an immersive hiking route with augmented reality. With a rented smartphone or tablet, visitors can see and experience the most iconic fauna of the Pyrenees, take photos with virtual animals, and learn in a fun way.

Charming gastronomy

La Molina is also a place to discover local cuisine, with several options that combine quality and authenticity. Restaurante Alabau is known for its mountain cuisine; Restaurante El Bosc offers a more family-friendly and varied menu with a cozy atmosphere; and Xiringuito del Lago, this season's big new feature, offers light and refreshing menus with unbeatable views of the lake.

Also noteworthy is La Placeta, which opened in winter and has been open throughout the summer and fall, hosting activities. It has become a lively meeting point for visitors.
