Slow, smart, and van travel: new ways to travel at Caravaning 2025
The largest event in the sector in Spain and the second largest in Europe returns to Fira de Barcelona from October 11 to 19. It will feature 700 vehicles, family activities, and a commitment to sustainability.
Starting and ending your route as you go. Sleeping next to a cliff or waking up in the middle of a forest. Stopping when the landscape calls for it and then unhurriedly resuming your journey. Caravanning has long since ceased to be just a way of getting around: it has become a way of experiencing the journey. This October, Fira de Barcelona will once again be the meeting point for a growing community. From October 11 to 19, the International Caravanning Show will showcase more than 700 vehicles, industry innovations, and a range of family activities at the Gran Via venue that are strongly committed to sustainability and new forms of tourism.
With more than 180 exhibiting companies and brands such as Volkswagen, Mercedes, Toyota, Adria, and Hymer, the Barcelona event is the most comprehensive showcase of the sector in Spain. This year, it will occupy 34,000 square meters of open space and will showcase hundreds of models of caravans, motorhomes, campers, and all-terrain vehicles adapted for adventure. However, the event goes beyond the trade show: it focuses on an experiential format that invites you to discover trends, receive personalized advice, and experience the spirit of the event firsthand.van life.
"The Caravanning Show will once again be the main platform for discovering the latest trends in the sector, a catalyst for boosting sales, and a meeting point that will attract thousands of enthusiasts from all over Spain," predicts José Manuel Jurado, president of ASEICAR and the event's Organizing Committee. The event will also include areas dedicated to camperization, rentals, and fashion.outdoor, accessories, and the entire world of camping and tiny houses, which are gaining ground in new tourism models. "This year we want to continue attracting new users, especially young families, to further expand the interest in nature tourism," adds Susana Colom, president of GREMCAR and also of the Committee.
Activities for everyone
The Caravanning Show isn't just a great commercial showcase: it's also a place to discover, learn, and seek advice. Whether it's your first time hearing about caravanning or you've been traveling with your home for years, the show organizes activities tailored to every profile. The Travelvaning area will once again offer a program of conferences, roundtable discussions, and presentations on the latest trends in the sector. In addition, experts from the AC Pasión virtual forum will provide personalized advice to visitors seeking direct, practical guidance.
There will also be space for the little ones, with a completely renovated Caravaning Kids area thanks to the Tata Inti cooperative. Games, workshops, and inclusive and sustainable activities will help children get in touch with this style of travel through play and creativity. The visit experience will be completed with the food trucks Gastrovaning and, as a new feature, a dedicated parking lot for those attending with a camper or caravan. On October 15th, La Nit del Caravaning will also be held: a party with exhibitors and industry professionals, livened up by Lola Van and her musical show from a van converted into a DJ booth.
New trends
Once again this year, the International Caravaning Show will reflect the trends that shape the future of the sector. Tourismslow, travel to temperate climates (coolcation) wavevan life–linked to digital nomads and van conversions– are gaining ground among those who want to live and work from anywhere. Added to all this is the digitalization of motorhomes, which are becoming increasingly smart and connected.
