Around sixty playful, creative, and educational initiatives make up this year's Children's Festival program. For the last five days of the year, the Montjuïc venue of Fira de Barcelona will once again be transformed into a large space for children to play and learn. Reading and solidarity will be the Festival's main themes.
From December 27 to 31, the 63rd Children's Festival The Montjuïc venue will once again be transformed into a vast space for play and learning for children aged 0 to 12. This classic Barcelona Christmas family event will occupy 20,000 square meters in Palau 2 and Plaça del Univers, offering a comprehensive program of over sixty activities that combine fun with a strong social component, this year focused on promoting reading and a spirit of solidarity.
The Silent Library and the Magic Library
The Silent Library and the Magic Library will be spaces where the youngest children can listen to stories. The aim is to promote reading habits through activities such as Stories in Motion, a workshop for creating stories as a family, and Dit i Explicat, which will distribute roving storytellers throughout all the exhibition spaces of the venue. This initiative will allow families to listen to short stories during their visit. In addition, the Festival will continue to offer a wide range of activities related to sports, games, creativity, and artistic expression, designed to spark the curiosity of children of all ages. Children aged 0 to 4 will have an exclusive space with activities adapted to their needs. And for older children, there will be a wide variety of options: from 3-a-side football matches to cooking workshops, theater performances, magic, and music. escape roomsinflatables and even the early celebration of the New Year's Eve chimes at 12 noon on December 31.
Tickets now on sale with a charitable purpose
The Children's Festival is launching early ticket sales to encourage a spirit of solidarity. Families who purchase tickets now will have the option to fund an extra pass for another child in a vulnerable situation. The presence of UNICEF Catalonia Committee at the Festival this year also reinforces the social awareness focus the event aims to provide. "Rain of Rights" is the innovative and participatory program UNICEF has designed for children to discover, understand, and celebrate their rights in a playful and creative way. The Solidarity Toy Shop will once again feature toys donated by Mattel and Cayro, which children attending the Festival can use freely. These toys will then be donated to families in vulnerable situations after the Festival. This initiative aligns with the Festival's values of collective commitment and mutual support. The Vicente Ferrer Foundation will also be present with a mandala drawing activity. Organized by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with the Barcelona City Council, the Children's Festival is an initiative produced by Evident Events with the support and participation of more than twenty companies, organizations, and institutions.
