USTEC confirms that there will be a strike on the first day of the school year, after meeting with Niubó

The majority union and the CGT have called on teachers to stop on the next September 8th

BarcelonaConfirmed. On the first day of this 2026-2027 school year, there will be a teachers' strike. This was announced by USTEC —the majority union within the education sector— after meeting this Thursday morning with the Minister of Education, Esther Niubó.

The union had criticized the Government for not summoning them to continue negotiating during the summer after the school year ended with several days of strikes and the teachers' rejection of the pre-agreement that Education and USTEC had reached (and which the union warned it would put to a vote).
