Two arrested for the crime of a man who appeared floating in the La Baells reservoir

BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a man and a woman as alleged perpetrators of the violent death of another man in Berguedà. The victim's lifeless body appeared on April 15 in the Baells reservoir and after a month and a half of investigation, the police have been able to solve the case. According to El Punt Avui and confirmed by ARA, the arrests were made this Thursday.

It all started when a woman walking her dog saw "something" floating in the reservoir and called the emergency number. No one had disappeared from the nearest town, Vilada, but the answer was eventually found in Berga: a sixty-year-old resident of the old town was not at home. Everything pointed to someone having killed him and the corpse, which appeared tied up and wrapped, showed clear signs of violence.

Reconstruction of events

Once the victim was identified, the Mossos went to her home, on Carrer del Carme in the capital of Berguedà. The police found indications that the crime could have occurred in that space and that they later moved the body, until they abandoned it in the Baells reservoir.

From the outset, the police thought they could find answers in the victim's environment and, for several days, the Mossos thoroughly analyzed the building where the victim lived to find traces of the crime and also reconstructed her environment and her last movements.

It is in the victim's environment that answers have been found. Neighbors have helped identify several people with whom they had seen the victim in the days before the crime. Finally, the police have arrested a man and a woman, known to the victim, for her death.
