The National Police are investigating a new tobacco smuggling route to northern Europe that passes through El Prat and Gare du Nord, and warn of an "exponential" increase in this trafficking in Barcelona. This year alone, 6,128 packets of tobacco have been seized, compared to 800 in 2024 and 1,590 in 2023.
