The Barcelona Public Prosecutor's Office and the City Council formalized an agreement to create a new unit within the Guardia Urbana (Barcelona's municipal police force) attached to the Public Prosecutor's Office. It will consist of five officers and a sergeant and will begin operations in 2026. The objective is to improve coordination, especially in cases of repeat offenses.
