The extremist who instigated the Torre Pacheco riots worked at a juvenile justice center in Barcelona.

The court maintains that the man, already in prison, "never had access to the minors' database."

BarcelonaChristian LF, the leader of the xenophobic supremacist movementSport Them NowThe UE prisoner, imprisoned since July for instigating racist riots in the Murcia town of Torre Pacheco, had previously worked at the Can Llupià juvenile justice center in Barcelona. He worked there from November 2, 2022, to March 30, 2023, according to sources from the Department of Justice, who claim that he "never had access to the juvenile database." However, the Sicap Fepol union has demanded that the department conduct an internal investigation to confirm whether the man accessed this data.

The union warns that Christian LF, 28, may have had "continuous access" to the center's databases, which include inmates' personal information such as their address and ID or NIE (National Identity Document). The department clarifies that the man worked in human resources and was primarily involved in replacing teachers at the center. During the months he worked at Can Llupià, Justícia claims, he never had the key needed to access inmate data, and they insist that the department always works with the highest standards of data protection and in compliance with the legislation.

After Can Llupià, Christian LF worked at the Quatre Camins prison, where he is now in pretrial detentionBetween October 30, 2023, and May 12, 2024, he carried out maintenance work, for which the workers do not have access to any information on the inmates, sources from the Justice Department add. The Ministry also emphasized that while Christian LF worked at Can Llupià and Quatre Camins, the department was unaware of his links to radical groups, and that once his arrest became known, "his potential access to sensitive information was reviewed" during the periods he had worked for the Justice Department.

Two Justice cards

Christian LF was no longer affiliated with the department when he was arrested in July following the hunt in Torre Pacheco and remanded in custody for alleged crimes of inciting hatred, belonging to an illicit association for committing a discriminatory crime, and illegal possession of weapons. The judge who remanded him in custody without bail noted in her ruling that the calls for mobilization Christian LF had made on social media had fostered a "climate of violence, hostility, or discrimination based on racial motives" against residents of North African origin. When the police searched his home, they found various weapons, including a carbine—a type of rifle—with a telescopic sight and a crossbow, although he lacked a license to use them.

When the Civil Guard arrested Christian LF in Mataró this July, it became known that a few months earlier he had obtained authorization to work as a private bodyguard and that he had unsuccessfully applied for positions as an administrative technician at the Mas de Enric prison in Tarragona, Catalonia. However, the rest of his resume in the Catalan prison system had not been made public until the Sicap Fepol union raised the alarm this Thursday. In fact, union sources suggest that his resume has reached the ears of workers because he was carrying two Justice cards when he entered prison. "His continued access to this data and the possibility that it may have been extracted from it, if confirmed, would represent an unacceptable security breach that endangers the most vulnerable people in the custody of the Generalitat," warned the union, which also sees a risk that neo-Nazi groups could use the information of foreign minors in prisons.
