Teacher arrested in Barcelona for sexual harassment and supplying drugs to students
Five families declared against the teacher, who has gone through 10 centers in a decade
BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a teacher from a high school in Ciutat Vella, Barcelona, for supplying drugs and alcohol to students, as well as allegedly sexually harassing adolescent students from the same center, as the ARA has learned. The investigation into this case dates back to June 2025, just before the school year ended, when the Catalan police received information that a teacher had inappropriate contact with his students. It is said that there is a teacher who has a lot of contact with students through social media, and that they have even met outside the center without the institute's authorization. It is also said that there could have been consumption of alcohol and drugs and harassment.
At this time, according to sources consulted by this newspaper, the Mossos began to try to gain the trust of the families of the affected students so that this information would be transformed into official statements. The Office of Community Relations was the unit of the Catalan police that received this initial information and that also undertook the task of speaking with family members to clarify the facts. It is an office focused on proximity, which has direct contact with the associative, commercial, and school fabric of the neighborhoods. They also conduct training in schools, medical centers, and senior centers, and maintain constant contact with the street to be able to closely understand the problems of the neighborhoods. Although their main function is not to investigate, in this case they themselves began to investigate, and the trust they achieved with the families and students has been key to reaching the end, according to sources consulted by the ARA.
During the summer of 2025, meetings were held with families, students, and also with the school's management to find out what had happened. As the months passed, a new school year began, and although the teacher in question had already changed schools, the police investigation continued its course. Finally, in October, one of the families, after months of dialogue with the police, decided to issue an official statement. This created a snowball effect, and in the following days, five statements from five victims were collected.
Cool teacher
It was a complicated process, as the teacher had the role of a rogue professor and students and family members were afraid of retaliation. He aspired to be a charismatic leader in the classroom. This made some families worry that part of the class would turn against them for making moves against the teacher. However, the statements, along with the investigative work, revealed the teacher's alleged modus operandi.
Specifically, in order to gain the trust of the students —most of them 16 years old—, he paid for their alcohol, sometimes dinners, and also brought them marijuana joints. He even explained to them how to smoke them. However, the investigation has also made it possible to confirm that, allegedly, the professor also acted towards certain girls for sexual purposes, inviting them to private meetings or talking to them through messaging applications.
In the case of one of the girls, the detainee even gave her money periodically to gain her trust. In fact, the Mossos' investigation concludes that the teacher had no economic profit motive, as he did not charge students for the alcohol or drugs. All these actions were, supposedly, to gain their trust.
The teacher, 41, had already had problems in previous educational centers. In fact, he has had a very high turnover: he has been in 10 centers in a decade and in some high schools he has records for similar inappropriate conduct.
