"The situation is very stable", the Minister of Health, Alba Vergés, explained this morning, as well as stating that the massive arrival of vaccines against covid-19 "allows us to be optimistic". With this scenario, the Government plans to continue easing the restrictions. From this Monday, the playgrounds will no longer have to close at 8 pm, and sports organizations may resume their assemblies, if necessary. But most of the changes will come from 9 May onwards, when the state of alarm decreed by the Spanish government will fall. This is what the easing of restrictions will look like:

1.
Bars and restaurants

Bars and restaurants will be able to work uninterruptedly until 11pm from 9 May onwards. Until now, the hours were from 7.30 am to 5 pm. However, they will have to comply with the same protective measures that already have to be applied today, such as maintaining the two-metre distance between tables and having an interior capacity of 30%.

2.
Curfew

The Health Minister, Alba Vergés, has confirmed that the curfew "will no longer be at 22.00" from 9 May - in fact, restaurants will be able to open until 23.00 - but has not clarified whether it will be eliminated or if it will be later. She has only made it clear that the Government is providing itself with the legal "instruments" to be able to apply it once the state of alarm decreed by the State is over. Therefore, the maintenance of the curfew will depend, on the one hand, on the epidemiological evolution and, on the other, on the consent of the High Court to maintain a restriction that affects a fundamental right without the umbrella of the state of alarm.

3.
Amusement parks at 30%

Amusement parks may reopen from 9 May onwards, but only with a capacity of up to 30%. Despite the green light, both Port Aventura and Tibidabo have already announced that they will open from 15 May. Civic centres may also reopen.

4.
Perimetral lockdown

The Government has not been able to clarify if from 9 May onwards it will be possible to leave Catalonia. For the moment, it is clear that mobility within the whole country will continue to be allowed, but the day the state of alarm ends, the possibility of leaving Catalonia will be automatically allowed. But the Government, as with the curfew, is looking for a legal formula that will allow, if necessary, to prevent people from leaving the country. It is also unclear whether the bar on more than six people being able to meet will be maintained.
