The mother of Noelia Castillo, the 25-year-old girl who received euthanasia on March 26, has filed two complaints with the Barcelona and Tarragona prosecutor's offices to investigate the two sexual assaults the girl publicly described hours before receiving assisted death. One allegedly occurred just three days before she attempted suicide in 2022, with irreversible injuries that left her paraplegic. The ultra-Catholic group Abogados Cristianos, which advised the father in the litigation to prevent the girl's right to assisted death, now represents the mother in these two complaints on which the Prosecutor's Office has not yet commented.

As explained by the group of lawyers, the complaints filed include Noelia's manuscripts and other documentation related to the assaults. They assure that at the time there was no formal complaint due to "lack of sufficient evidence," which would now be included in the documentation the mother has obtained after the affected person's death. They believe the documents could help identify the perpetrators of the assaults and are asking the justice system to investigate.

In Noelia Castillo's interview on Antena 3 hours before receiving euthanasia, she described three assaults. One, by a boyfriend she had for four years, who allegedly abused her one night when she had taken sleeping pills. The second incident occurred in a nightclub where two boys "tried to sexually assault" her, and the third also took place in a nightclub where "three boys at once" attacked her.

The complaints filed by Abogados Cristianos on behalf of Noelia's mother refer to the first and third incidents, which, as they explained, happened in Salou, where the girl was drugged by a waiter and subsequently raped by three men. Three days after this assault, the young woman from Garraf attempted suicide. The complaints state that these events could constitute two counts of rape, with several aggravating circumstances.

As they are different events that took place in different provinces, one of the complaints has been filed with the Prosecutor's Office of Barcelona and the other with that of Tarragona. The ultra-Catholic group Abogados Cristianos has recalled that the victim's death does not prevent the criminal prosecution of these crimes and has asked the public prosecutor's office to initiate the necessary investigations to identify those responsible and demand the corresponding criminal responsibilities from them.
