The mother of Noelia Castillo, the 25-year-old girl who received euthanasia on March 26, has filed two complaints with the prosecutor's offices in Barcelona and Tarragona to investigate the two alleged rapes suffered by the young woman, which allegedly triggered the suicide attempt that left her paraplegic in 2022. In the complaints, which include Noelia's manuscripts and various documents, the mother asks to identify the alleged aggressors.

The family could not report the events at the time because they did not have enough evidence. However, after Noelia's death, her mother was able to access various documents that, according to the complaint, would allow the alleged perpetrators to be identified. The first assault was allegedly committed by the young woman's ex-partner, a Pakistani boy with whom she had a four-year relationship, and the second allegedly occurred in Salou, where, according to the victim's account, she was drugged by a waiter and subsequently raped by three men.

Three days after the second assault, the young woman from Garraf tried to commit suicide by throwing herself from a fifth-floor apartment and was left paraplegic. The complaints maintain that these events could constitute two counts of rape, with various aggravating circumstances.

Since they are different events that took place in different provinces, one of the complaints has been filed with the Prosecutor's Office of Barcelona and the other with that of Tarragona.

The ultra-Catholic group Christian Lawyers, which represents the young woman's mother, has recalled that the victim's death does not prevent the criminal prosecution of these crimes and has requested that the public prosecutor's office initiate the necessary proceedings to identify those responsible and hold them accountable.
