A 17-year-old boy arrested for the death of a man who was stabbed before a road accident in Balaguer
At first the crime seemed like a road accident
BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 17-year-old adolescent allegedly for killing a young man by stabbing him before a traffic accident in Balaguer. In fact, at first the death seemed like a road accident, because the victim —a 26-year-old man— accelerated until he went off the road, collided with other vehicles, and ended up overturning in the middle of the carriageway.
The events occurred on Wednesday, August 26, around eleven at night, within the urban area of Balaguer. Inside the crashed car was the man's body, who died in the accident.
Investigators realized that the victim's body showed signs of criminal violence prior to the accident. Specifically, he had a stab wound, an indication that someone had stabbed him before the accident. At this point, the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the events and yesterday arrested a minor allegedly linked to the violent death. Police sources add that the motive with which the adolescent would have acted has not yet been clarified.
The arrested person for his alleged connection to this violent death has been brought before the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office this Tuesday morning.
