Josep Juanpere's partner, released: the judge imposes a bail of 80,000 euros

BarcelonaThe plot twist in the case of Josep Juanpere arrived nine months after the death of this renowned architect, once the investigation by the Mossos d'Esquadra, conducted with strict secrecy, ended with the arrest of his partner at the time of the events, a 65-year-old woman. The arrest took place this Wednesday at her home in Madrid, and this Friday the suspect was brought before the judge in Vielha. The investigating magistrate has decided to send the woman to provisional prison, a measure she can avoid if she pays a bail of 80,000 euros. The case is open for a crime of homicide.

The woman was released this Friday afternoon from the Vielha courts, although she has not yet paid the bail, after having entered around ten in the morning. Specifically, the judge has given her three days to make it effective and, if she does not do so, she will have to enter prison. In the meantime, her passport has been withdrawn and she cannot leave the country. According to judicial sources, there were technical problems in making the transfer, but the money was already available and it will be completed soon.

The woman is accused of having killed her partner, Josep Juanpere, on December 26th of last year at the second residence he had in Baqueira. In fact, one of the first clues the Mossos worked with was the fact that the woman did not alert emergency services and that it was the architect's nephew who, after hours of being unable to contact him, went to the residence in Baqueira and discovered his uncle's lifeless body, with the woman visibly distressed by his side.

Juanpere was a very well-known figure among the Catalan high spheres, as throughout his life he designed important office buildings and corporate blocks. Juanpere's partner is also a person with high purchasing power, as she has hotel and restaurant businesses on the Costa del Sol. The relationship had lasted for approximately two years and they were not married, a fact that makes the economic motive for this crime lose strength.
