Councillor Pané fractures fibula in domestic accident
Albert Dalmau will assume his duties during the recovery of the head of the Department of Health
BarcelonaThe Minister of Health, Olga Pané, has fractured her fibula in a domestic accident, as reported this Sunday by the Department of Health. During her recovery, the Government informs that the Minister of the Presidency, Albert Dalmau, will assume her duties. In the statement, the Generalitat does not specify how long the minister may be on leave.
Minister Dalmau has already had to substitute members of the Government on two occasions in a few weeks for medical reasons. First, he assumed the duties of president while Salvador Illa was on leave. The leader of the executive was diagnosed with pubic osteomyelitis in mid-January. After two weeks admitted to the Vall d'Hebron Hospital, on January 31 he continued his recovery from home. On February 13, he returned to work.Dalmau also provisionally assumed the leadership of the Department of Education due to the medical leave of its head, Esther Niubó, who announced she was stepping down on February 1st. The medical leave lasted two months and Niubó returned on April 7th. The Minister of Education explained once she had returned to work that she had overcome a thymic cancer.
