BarcelonaAliança Catalana held its first municipal convention this Saturday in Ripoll to prepare for the upcoming local elections. Around two hundred members gathered, including representatives from all the regional executive committees that have been formed in recent months. However, two of the former regional presidents were absent. The president of the Maresme committee, Marta Balcells, and the president of the Tarragonès committee, Jordi Borràs, were absent from the convention because they have resigned from their positions, according to ARA. Both have been involved with the project since its inception, joining the party shortly after its founding. Balcells reportedly decided to leave Aliança Catalana due to disagreements with the regional vice president, Josep Maria Prat, who is currently serving as acting president, according to party sources in Maresme. Prat, who has the support of the leadership, has also had disagreements with other board members, but so far only Balcells has stepped down. In a conversation with ARA, the former president of the Maresme region declined to comment, despite confirming her resignation. Jordi Borràs Albesa has also left the presidency of a regional branch, but in this case not of his own volition. He was accused of misconduct by local members and received an expulsion order on Thursday. The leadership has decided to dissolve the executive committee while awaiting the selection of a new one, although Borràs has filed an appeal, claiming the accusations are false, according to party members in Tarragona. These same sources suggest that Gerard Balcells, owner of a tourist apartment company in the Vall d'Aran, could be the new regional president on this new board.

Borràs, party member number 66, has removed his former position from his social media profile and hasn't tweeted about Aliança Catalana for several days, despite being one of its most active members. Right after the disciplinary proceedings began, the former regional leader complained that he had been on the front lines from the very beginning, before Aliança Catalana's entry into the Catalan Parliament caused a surge in membership.

"I was one of the only ones here... Where were the others? Now everything is easy, just show up and grind. Before, you had to go to towns where they wanted to beat you up. Without that work, none of the current members would be here. Especially not those earning eighty thousand euros," he criticized, posting a picture of himself putting up party posters, putting up party posters, and putting up party posters. Oriol Gès, for his work as an advisor in Parliament.

Since being ousted, Borràs has made posts on social media celebrating that lawyer Roger Baiges is competing with Jordi Sendra to be the Junts mayoral candidate in Tarragona, and even praising Vox councilor in Terrassa, Alicia Tomás, whom she has predicted will be the new mayor of the co-capital of the Valley.

The latest territorial crisis suffered by the Islamophobic party was in Berguedà, at the end of the year. The decision of an independent councilor, Judit Vinyes,to enroll in Aliança CatalanaIt took its toll on the core group driving the far-right party in the capital of Berguedà. The endorsement by the organizing secretary, Oriol Gès, for Vinyes to head the party's list in the upcoming municipal elections led a large group of members to tear up their membership cards.

Among them was Anna de Haro, who was running for regional president and mayoral candidate for Berga. On Saturday, after the convention, De Haro criticized Vinyes' presence in the regional executive's group photo: "And there, integrated into the team, is a member who holds no known position either within the executive or the organization... but who still holds a seat on the Berga City Council."
