The prosecution is asking the Supreme Court to overturn the conviction of the Attorney General.

The Public Prosecutor's Office has filed a motion to have the Supreme Court overturn the sentence that disqualifies Álvaro García Ortiz from serving as Attorney General for two years. It argues that, "surprisingly," the sentence "disregards, without any explanation," the testimony of numerous witnesses.
