The Government creates more than 7,000 new public employee positions
The call is addressed to security forces, teachers and health workers, among others.

The Catalan government approved this new call for applications for 2025 on Tuesday, which is specifically aimed at positions for security forces, fire prevention and extinguishing, healthcare, teaching, prison, and administrative staff. Of the more than 7,000 positions announced, 1,102 are for internal promotion, and 7% are reserved for people with disabilities (392).
How will these positions be distributed? The majority will be for the Catalan Health Institute (2,304), followed by 1,919 for teachers and 1,637 for the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police). The government has also announced 1,781 for administrative and technical staff and labor personnel. On the other hand, the Generalitat (Catalan government) has created 154 positions for prison services, 54 for the Fire Department, and 47 for Rural Agents. According to the Minister of Territory and Government spokesperson, Silvia Paneque, it has been "a decade" since the government announced a public position similar to the one approved by the executive this Tuesday.
In this regard, Paneque defended the fact that the government announced these positions before next year, even though the law allowed it to announce them in the next three years. In fact, this is the result of an agreement with the unions following their meeting on April 2. The agreement also includes the announcement of the 1,781 administrative and technical staff positions before the end of this year. The objective, according to the government, is to "consolidate stable, quality employment" and keep temporary employment rates below 8%, the percentage recommended by the European Union.
