MadridKing Felipe VI has tested positive for covid-19 after presenting mild symptoms since Tuesday afternoon, according to a statement by Zarzuela palace. The monarch is in "good" health but has proceeded to suspend all official activities for the next seven days, during which he will remain in isolation. Nevertheless, the Royal Household has specified, he will maintain his institutional activity online. On the other hand, the statement specifies that both Queen Letizia and the Infanta Sofia have no symptoms for now and "may continue with their planned activities normally, according to the established protocols".

Precisely, just over a year ago, former king Juan Carlos I also tested positive for covid and, as advanced by ARA, was admitted to a clinic in Abu Dhabi, where he resides after fleeing the State in the face of several court cases against him. During a visit to their father in the United Arab Emirates, infantas Elena and Cristina were vaccinated when their age group was not yet eligible in Spain.
