BarcelonaBarcelona-born Peter Vives (La Riera, El tiempo entre costuras) will star in Woody Allen's Madrid-based film. The lead actresses will be Jemima Kirke and Alexi Wasserm, both coming from the cast of the series Girls. Filming will begin on October 5th. The cast is completed by Marton Csokas and Jakob Oftebro.

According to Wanda Visión, one of the production companies, "Madrid will not be a simple backdrop, but will become one more character." The film has the support of both the Community of Madrid (with a check for a sponsorship contract of 1.5 million euros) and the City Council (a second check of 1.5 million), which believe it will promote the region worldwide, as Midnight in Paris did with Paris in 2011, Rifkin's Festival with San Sebastián in 2020, and Vicky Cristina Barcelona with Barcelona in 2008. One of the conditions for obtaining public support is that Madrid must appear in the title, because one of the objectives is to promote the city as a film set. One of the formulas the director has found to finance his films has been to set them in cities that contribute to the budget.
