Nacho Duato, one of the most prominent figures in Spanish contemporary dance and former artistic director of the Compañía Nacional de Danza between 1990 and 2010, explained in an interview on the program Cara al show, on La Sexta, an episode he experienced when he was 17 years old, upon arriving in Madrid to start his career as a dancer. He explained it during his visit to the program presented by Marc Giró, where he detailed an attempted sexual assault and a subsequent physical assault by an actor now deceased and, according to him, "very famous".

"He told me he was taking me home. And suddenly I saw he was taking me somewhere else and made me go up to his home," explained Duato, describing the moment when, according to his account, the car journey deviated to the supposed aggressor's home. Once there, the man allegedly tried to abuse him and reacted violently when he refused: “He started beating me up,” he said. “I left, but I couldn’t even walk,” he explained about his escape, which left him on the street for hours with no possibility of returning home. In fact, he assures that he spent the night sitting on a bench until a taxi driver saw him in the morning and helped him: “It was two in the morning, I didn't have a phone and I couldn't find taxis either”.

Duato explained that after the aggression he spent two days recovering from his injuries, with bruises and wounds, and that at that time he did not consider reporting the events: "Who could I tell?", he asked himself, citing the lack of support and the feeling of vulnerability he felt then. Therefore, the choreographer did not see it viable to file any complaint. In any case, he advanced that some of these experiences will appear in his next book.

During the interview, the choreographer also wanted to reflect on the case with Giró: "The violence of men towards men must have the same heteropatriarchal root as the violence of men against women, it must be the same problem", pointed out Nacho Duato.
