BarcelonaMarius Borg Hoiby, son of Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, has been sentenced to four years in prison for two counts of rape. An Oslo court has ruled that Hoiby, 29, is guilty of two of the four rapes for which he was tried last February. During the trial, Hoiby admitted to being partially guilty – as permitted by Norwegian law – of assault and reckless endangerment, but did not admit to being the perpetrator of the rapes. He has now been unanimously convicted. He has also been found guilty of assaulting his ex-partner, the influencer Nora Haukland, according to the Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten, and will have to pay approximately 60,000 euros in compensation to the victims. Hoiby was charged with one count of rape, two of non-consensual sexual contact, and four of offensive sexual behavior, in a list that also includes threats, vandalism, abuse, and traffic offenses.
