From early in the morning, the anticipation was already visible at the Charles III University of Madrid for the arrival of Princess Leonor, who began her university life this Monday. Received with applause, the Princess of Asturias stated before entering the Faculty of Social and Legal Sciences of the UC3M, where she will study for a degree in Political Science over the next four years, that she is beginning this new stage with "great enthusiasm".

Wearing a white shirt, jeans, sneakers, and a black bag, Leonor arrived at the faculty ten minutes before classes began. The Royal Household has insisted that the princess will be treated without privileges, like any other student, but the truth is that her first day had nothing to do with that of a normal student: the rector of the university, Ángel Arias, the vice-rector for Students, Pilar Otero, and the dean of the Faculty of Social and Legal Sciences, Antonio Descalzo, were awaiting her arrival to welcome her.

The rector of the university explained that Leonor was "excited, calm, and eager to start and meet her classmates". Furthermore, he considered it a success that the Royal Household chose the public university for the education of the Princess of Asturias, as it is increasingly "sought after and valued by society for the quality of its faculty and research". Regarding security measures, Ángel Arias trusted in the responsibility of the students and expressed his conviction that "she will have excellent classmates and they will be very respectful as they have always been".

Leonor will balance her university life with her institutional commitments as heir to the Crown, in the same way she has done during her military training in the Armed Forces over these last three years.
