Laura Escanes: “I am a very empty profile, I cannot give myself so much importance nor give opinions on current affairs”

BarcelonaThe influencer and presenter of La travessa, Laura Escanes, reflected on the crisis of influencers in a conversationthis Monday on El matí de Catalunya Ràdio. "I am not a role model nor am I setting an example for anything, I make mistakes very often. I always say so," states the communicator regarding the impact of her posts, with almost 2 million followers on Instagram. From her point of view, the debate about the role of influencers is good and she considers that "when you lack knowledge or do not know something 100%, it is better to be quiet". "I am a very empty entertainment profile, really. I cannot give myself that much importance nor can we give so much importance to what an influencer who is dedicated to showing what clothes they have put on and where they have eaten thinks", underlines Escanes.

During the conversation, Escanes also refers to hate on social media and says that "it is a moment in which everything is black or white, where nuances are not understood". That is why she emphasizes that "Instagram and social media are not social life" and says that now criticism affects her less, and that when she is doing poorly she shows less of her life. "Sometimes it is a matter of time, that everything falls into place. It is also important to accept that you cannot always be at 100%", she says.

The interview is linked to the premiere of La travessa VIP, the fourth season of the reality show that starts airing this Tuesday on 3Cat. Regarding this edition of the program, Escanes points out that they did not lower the level of demand due to the fact that the participants were media personalities —among the contestants are Raquel Sans, Jéssica Goicoechea and the Tyets, among others— and assures that they went through cold, rain and tough trials, and that more than one of them said they could not take it anymore. "They didn't expect us to push them so much to the limit, they suffered a lot", highlights the presenter.

Regarding her professional future, she says that she has always thought that the job on social media would not last forever and that is why she has opened up other paths, such as being a television presenter, a podcast host, and she has become a partner of the fitness application Razo, which she herself also uses. "I think about the future and I don't imagine myself in 10 years showing my life on Instagram. Maybe that's why I look for other things that motivate me. I want to evolve and I want to learn", states Escanes.
