George Clooney and his family, evacuated due to fires in France

BarcelonaGeorge and Amal Clooney have been evacuated from their main residence in Brinhòla, in the Provence region, due to the threat of fires spreading across southern France. The couple shared the news after sending a letter to the town's mayor, Didier Brémond. “We are committed to ensuring that, whatever happens to our village, we are part of the community and will help rebuild it,” announced the Clooney family. The actor and his wife have resided in the south of France for years with their two nine-year-old twin children.

“We are part of this community, we love Brinhòla and the friends who live here,” explains the couple. The family acquired Domain du Canadel, an 18th-century wine estate, for around 6.7 million euros. The Clooneys left Hollywood to live in a small village in Provence and, a few months ago, obtained French nationality. “We were worried about raising our children in Los Angeles, I didn't want them to be surrounded by paparazzi all day,” the actor declared to the magazine Esquire. Fires in France have already forced the evacuation of more than 220,000 people in the Gironde region, and 3,000 more in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, where the Clooney mansion is located.
