Aitana explains her breakup with Sebastián Yatra in Rosalía's confessional
The singer says publicly that he told her: "From the year, I can be unfaithful"
BarcelonaThe concerts of Rosalía's Lux tour include a moment of confession on stage, where the singer from Sant Esteve Sesrovires places herself in a fake confessional and listens to the story of a well-known personality, usually about the sins of one of their ex-partners. At the Madrid concert she gave this Friday, it was the singer Aitana who entered the confessional and gave details of one of her most talked-about breakups: the one that ended her relationship with Colombian singer Sebastián Yatra between 2023 and 2024.
Aitana explained that when they had only been dating for a few months, Yatra told her that it wouldn't last: "He told me that from the following year he could be unfaithful and I thought that at least he was being honest." The singer then broke up with him, but after a few months she gave him another chance. Shortly after, Yatra himself made those statements public on a podcast: "If I had a longer relationship, I would be more inclined to be unfaithful even if I was in love with someone." Regarding that conversation, Aitana said it made her "very ashamed" and thus justified her breakup.
The audience at the Movistar Arena in Madrid burst into applause when they discovered who she was talking about, as Rosalía herself wanted to make it clear: "He was a singer, right?" she asked, and Aitana confirmed it. "Isn't it someone who said he was making me up?" Rosalía added afterwards, and Aitana also confirmed it. The singer from Sant Esteve Sesrovires was referring to a marketing strategy that Yatra used some time ago, in which he mentioned Rosalía on social media. Here came another confession, in this case from Rosalía herself: "He apologized to me and I didn't forgive him."
“If in the first year he tells you there are problems... That's a no, sister,” Rosalía stated to conclude the confessional, a dynamic that is yielding a lot in her Lux tour concerts. She performed at the Movistar Arena in Madrid on April 1st and 3rd, and will do so again this Saturday, April 4th. Among the guests at previous concerts in the confessional, content creator Esty Quesada, who runs the YouTube channel Soy una Pringada, has also been seen in recent days.
