Feijóo in Plaza España during the demonstration.

Ironically, yesterday was Pentecost Sunday, the day when, as the Gospels explain, "those gathered began to speak in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them the ability to express themselves." But no, those gathered yesterday in Madrid, shouting "mafia or democracy," didn't begin to speak in other languages (only Aznar did that in private and out of necessity in 1996), but instead used the same old language: "We have come to defend Spain."

It was an overacted, melancholic demonstration of thegreatest hits(the "" came out againEnough is enough"), complaining that Spain today has "a government without love for its nation", with a vague accusation of corruption, a sack of bad guys from which they pulled Ábalos, Koldo, Aldama, Leire, Puigdemont, Bildu and something of the Constitutional Court because they will approve the amnesty. Nor is it that the . less to dazzle us with good government, having there, in the front row, the still president Mazón, who I don't know how they are not ashamed of dragging a guy who is at the same time the mark of guilt and the lack of authority of Feijóo to make him fold.

On stage, the leader of the Popular Party (PP) was once again the most anticlimactic leader imaginable. In an attempt to engage with the protesters, he suggested they say "yes" to concepts like "honest Spaniards" and "real plumbers." Either they find him someone better to give the speeches, or it will end up like the demonstration, when he left a rhetorical question hanging in the air: "Given all this, what can we do?" and one of the audience immediately retorted: "Storm the Moncloa!" For now, he promised a sort of refoundation of the party. And they went off to have a few beers.
