Intense people

There is a way of describing personality that has become popular in recent times, which is to call a person "intense". Some time ago, we might have said they were a pest, that they always made a mountain out of a molehill, or that they were an exaggerator. But all these would be incomplete attributes.

Intense people are those who live everything without moderation, whether it's joy, worries, or indignation; people who, almost before saying good morning, urgently ask you: "Don't you know what happened?" They are direct people, who skip social preliminaries, who, when they ask you how you are and you answer "fine," you can notice a hint of disappointment in their tone and a silence for you to speak. And if not, they ask for details, such as what is the most fun or boring thing that happened to you today. They will tell you without hesitation and want reciprocity, at any moment they call and burst into your life. They want the truth, not a small talk.

Depending on how you look at it, they can be overwhelming. It's not that they don't listen, but they get straight to the point. And, sometimes, intense people are also a bit enviable, when they put their mood, their plans, or their opinions at the center, that entering a shop and monopolizing the attention of the salesperson, when they go all out, no matter what, with that need to live life to the fullest, wide open every day. I know generous, loyal, positive ones, who have overcome serious obstacles with drive where others might have failed. They calculate, but they don't deceive. They've heard "you're fine" all their lives, and it's very funny to hear them thunder back with the answer: "Me fine? Do you want me to tell you my life story?"

Happy summer to readers of all intensities.
