Emigrate to Puerto Rico
I read in ARA that the Donald Trump administration “has blocked Ada Colau from entering Puerto Rico, where she was going to participate in an event alongside the mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani”. The official reason, it seems, is the "suspicion" that the former mayor of Barcelona "wants to migrate illegally to the country". The President of the United States and current shadow press secretary for Ada Colau does not know what he is saying.
Ada Colau is the most remembered mayor of Barcelona of all time. And let me say, please, that if I write “mayor” (alcalde) it is because I am using the masculine generic (and you can execute me and broadcast it). If I said she is the most remembered female mayor (alcaldessa) it would have no merit, because there has only been one female mayor, her. And if I say she is the most remembered mayor (alcalde/essa), I risk people thinking I am mocking her name and I lose the prestige I have left.
If I say, then, that she is the most remembered mayor, it is because as a regular user of public transport when I go to Barcelona, I can say that all taxi drivers, invariably, keep her in mind. They pass by some roadworks –roadworks that are the responsibility of Collboni, who is the mayor– and they say: “Fucking Colau!” (the “fucking” is a way of adding a softener, you know what I mean). A tourist crosses a pedestrian crossing on red and they can't help themselves: “Fucking Colau!” Everything that happens, bad, in Barcelona now, and everything that will happen there, is and will be the fault of “la Colau”.
With this supreme legacy among the drivers of the pine-shaped air freshener, how does Donald Trump expect her to emigrate to Puerto Rico? Not even for six mayors of New York, all of them lovers of diversity, one after the other! Ada Colau is from Barcelona, like Columbus, the large beer bottles of the tourists on the Rambla and the superblocks. Puerto Rico? Yeah, right!
