BarcelonaThe Donald Trump administration prevents Ada Colau from entering Puerto Rico. As reported by Eldiario.es and confirmed by sources from the Comuns consulted by ARA, the US administration has denied the permit for the Front Ampli candidate for 29-N to enter the US-associated state, where she was invited to participate in an event alongside the mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani. The official reason, according to the same sources, is the "suspicion" that the former mayor of Barcelona "intends to migrate illegally to the country," but the party denounces that "she has been blacklisted for her activism and for ideological reasons."

Sources from the Comuns explain that the entire delegation scheduled to travel to participate in the event, organized by the municipalist movement Fearless Cities, was authorized to go to Puerto Rico with the granting of the ESTA, the permit necessary to enter the US. Colau, however, was denied and asked to conduct a personal interview at the US embassy "if she wanted the decision to be reconsidered." An interview that took place 15 days ago and which, according to the same sources, focused on her pro-Palestinian activism and participation in the Gaza Flotilla last year, "with much insistence on the three days she was detained in Israel."

"Milei can come to Spain and Colau cannot go to the US"

The Broad Front candidate received the final denial this Tuesday on the grounds that she "wants to emigrate illegally" into US territory, but the Comuns see it as a clear ideological veto. "Milei can come to Spain to talk about cuts, but Colau cannot go to the US to talk about rights," the party criticizes, on the same day that the Argentine president has landed in Madrid, where he will offer an informative breakfast and a talk and is expected to meet with the president of the Community, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
