We Are Energy, We Are Connection, and We Are Mobility join forces to revolutionize responsible business consumption.

Three of the sector's most representative cooperatives take a strategic step to provide essential services to companies with values

Redacció

A few weeks ago, Som Energia, Som Connexió, and Som Mobilitat formalized the intercooperation agreement that facilitates joint access for companies to essential services such as energy, telecommunications, and mobility based on ethical and sustainable criteria. This collaboration, the result of a shared journey since 2023, now has 10,600 user companies, 450 of which have contracted two or more services.

The agreement does not come at any random time; rather, it coincides with the International Year of Cooperativism and is presented as a declaration of principles. The three entities join forces to offer a real and transformative alternative to organizations that want to reduce their environmental footprint and commit to meaningful consumption.

From now on, being a member of one of the cooperatives gives access to advantageous conditions for joining the other two. David Bonvehí, Director General of Social and Solidarity Economy and Cooperativism, highlights the fact that the joint solution was created "with a transformative, democratic, and locally rooted approach, demonstrating that another economic model is not only possible, but is already a reality and has the potential to grow."

Growing with meaning

Bernat Alcolea, spokesperson for Som Connexió, sums it up clearly: "Intercooperation between organizations that share social and environmental values allows us to grow meaningfully, multiply our impact, and build real alternatives to conventional market offerings." And it's not just a question of values; the numbers speak for themselves: Som Energia has avoided the emission of 597 kg of CO₂ per organization and business contract, and Som Mobilitat has reduced emissions by 59 kg per user. For its part, Som Connexió provides a strong ethical and educational value. In total, the combined environmental savings are equivalent to the annual emissions of 4,700 cars across Spain.

But the impact doesn't stop there: the project has generated direct employment with a team of 11 people, eight of whom were hired specifically through the agreement.

A model for the future

"With this alliance, we join forces, generate synergies, and better reach companies and organizations, facilitating their transition toward more responsible consumption," explains Arnau Vilardell, spokesperson for Som Mobilitat. Along the same lines, Marta Doncel, co-general coordinator of Som Energia, adds: "When we cooperate based on shared values, we not only combine efforts, but also generate a meaningful model, capable of transforming the market and offering real solutions to the social and environmental challenges of our time." Therefore, the alliance also aims to establish a clear roadmap for the future of cooperativism and, consequently, consolidate itself as a benchmark within and outside Catalonia.
