Vilafranca and Vella show off their handcuffs during a glorious weekend of the Sitges Youth Festival.

The Castellers de Vilafranca had planned their performance in Sitges to take things a step further, and they did so in the form of a tower of 9 with a lining and handcuffs. The Greens also added a majestic 5 of 9 with a lining, a 9 of 8, and the debut of the pillar of 7 with an unloaded lining. In this way, they are on track to set up the 3 of 10 for this coming Saturday in Vilanova i la Geltrú.

The Colla Vella de los Xiquets de Valls, however, has not been left behind either. After the magical triple in Vilallonga del Camp, they have added their first pillar of 8 with a lining and handcuffs.

Filming again before the extra range

The Tarragona Youth Group and the Valls Youth Group have once again rolled out basic structures, in the form of threes and fours for the Tarragona youth group and threes for the Vallencs youth group, to take on the extra range in August. Vilanova and la Geltrú for the lilacs and Firagost for the reds are the dates for the assault.

Some Fake Children

The Children of El Vendrell were putting on an ambitious Santa Anna show, with the large poster of the 4 of 9 with a cover. However, the performance went awry from the start when they took down the 5 of 8. They also had to take down the covered four and the 7 of 8, so they completed the performance with the basic eight.

Sitges Young Historical Society

One of the big news of the weekend was the memorable performance by Jove de Sitges. The Garraf band completed their first ever 3 of 8 with a superb performance, which they followed with a 4 of 8 and a 7 of 7, consolidating their position as one of the year's breakout groups.

Other highlights include Niños de Reus' third 5 of 8, which Marrecs de Salt dismantled twice in their first attempts of the year.
