Tomorrow the weather will continue to be turbulent and the cool weather will reach its lowest point.
Showers will continue to fall in several areas and temperatures will drop further.

BarcelonaThe week has kicked off with a new and significant round of showers and heavy storms, which this Monday affected several regions with downpours and hail, leaving more than 20 l/m² in just half an hour. In some areas, rainfall exceeded 30 or 40 l/m² throughout the day, with several incidents. Very locally, rainfall reached 80 l/m² on the Barcelona coast (you'll find the most important data and images of the episode at the end of this report). During the night, some more scattered, localized, and weak showers will continue to fall, but they will be relatively few at first. The weather will remain unsettled this Tuesday as well, with new showers in the center and north of the country, as well as a new snowfall in the Pyrenees below 2,000 m. All this with temperatures reaching rock bottom, making the atmosphere generally cool. The weather situation will continue to change and be unstable in the coming days.
Tuesday: moving and cool weather
During the morning, there will be plenty of cloudiness and spotty rainfall in parts of the Girona, Barcelona, and Pyrenees regions. Some local, somewhat intense thunderstorms are not ruled out, while a few showers may also occur in areas such as the West and the Pre-Pyrenees. However, the sun will dominate throughout the day in the southern third of the country, especially along the Ebro.
From mid-morning and midday, and throughout the afternoon, spotty showers and thunderstorms will occur in central and northern areas of the country. They will primarily affect the Pyrenees, the Pre-Pyrenees, Central Catalonia, and the coastal foothills, but will also reach parts of the coast. Meteocat maintains alerts for heavy rain in several regions in the northern half.
The snow level will be between 1,400 and 1,600 m in the morning, and between 1,500 and 1,700 m in the afternoon. Snowfall could be heavy in the high altitudes of the eastern Pyrenees, where the sky will be gray and precipitation will fall throughout the day. Scattered showers will also fall on the islands of Mallorca and Menorca, in Alicante, and in southern Valencia.
Temperatures will reach rock bottom, and the atmosphere will be cool for much of the day. Many highs will be between 15 and 20°C, higher in the south. However, mountain areas will be cold, feeling more like the end of winter in the Pyrenees than May. During the morning, the mistral and the tramontana winds will blow in the Ebro and Empordà regions, but the wind will ease in the afternoon.
Unstable conditions all week.
On Wednesday, the instability will diminish, with only a few afternoon showers remaining in the Pyrenees and the northeast. But between Thursday and Friday, the maps indicate that the weather situation will become more complicated again, with new showers and storms that could occur anywhere. A situation that we will have to specify in future forecasts. In any case, more rain will arrive, which will maintain the rise of reservoirs in the inland basins, which remain in excellent condition and are already above 73%. All this with higher temperatures.

In many cases, the storms were severe and accompanied by hail, small stones, and strong winds. Some downpours dumped more than 20 l/m² in just half an hour, causing some incidents, mainly flooding.
The city of Barcelona itself was hit hard by the heavy storms overnight, with more than 40 l/m² accumulated in the Raval neighborhood. In several areas along the pre-coastal region, rainfall levels exceeded 30 or 40 l/m², but the most notable were the violent storms that affected the northwest of Vallès Occidental, the north of Baix Llobregat, and nearby areas, leaving 80 l/m² in Vacarisses and significant hail with small stones.
