"The best thing they can tell us is that we have a seal."
Blaumut will perform next Friday at Peralada Castle and later in Girona and L'Escala.

GironaAbyss is the title of Blaumut's sixth album, an album that they've delivered to their fans in two installments: five songs in the spring and another five in the fall, followed by the album's release. "It's important that people have time to digest the songs. In the times we live in, where everything happens so fast and at such a crazy pace, you have to stop and breathe," says Xavi de la Iglesia, singer and composer of this group that combines folk-pop, classical music, and singer-songwriter music. They are currently on tour and have performed in cities such as Valencia, Bilbao, and Madrid, outside the Principality, and have sold out in many cases. "Seeing so many people singing in Catalan in Madrid, people who weren't Catalan, is fantastic, it gives you a brutal energy and makes your hair stand on end. After the concert, they came to talk to us, you could see that they had prepared the good night and little else in Catalan, and you saw that they were from Madrid or the surrounding areas," explains De la Iglesia.
One of the characteristics of the audience that attends Blaumut concerts is the intergenerational nature: from young people in their twenties to people in their seventies or older. "It fills us with pride, and we see it at the end of the concerts, when we go out to sign albums, that people tell you they come to enjoy the music. Wow, going to enjoy the music because it's music without thinking about what niche it belongs to, we really like," he adds.
Another thing that satisfies the group is having a recognizable sound: "On each album, we've tried to do what we felt like at each moment. We've really enjoyed playing with the instruments, and from there, this is what has been reflected in the albums, but always trying to be very true to ourselves, but it's always very true to ourselves, Blaumut, in the end," De la Iglesia adds. "The best thing they can tell us is that we have a seal, that they hear a song and they already know it's from Blaumut." In addition to De la Iglesia, the group also includes Vassil Lambrinov, Oriol Aymat, Manuel Krapovickas, and Toni Pagès.
The next stop on this tour will take them to Peralada Castle on Friday, May 9th, and they will subsequently perform at the Festivalot in Girona and the Portalblau festival in l'Escala.
