With a lineup comprised exclusively of musicians who sing in Catalan, as is their trademark, the Campllong Musicant Festival will hold its new edition from June 25th to 29th. It will include a gastronomic space, the MusicanTast, where spectators can sample local cuisine. This year's guest musicians are Els Catarres, who will perform in Campllong on the 27th as part of their tour to present their new album; soprano Mireia Tarragó and musician Bernardo Rambeaud, who will open the festival on the 25th with a performance in the parish church, interpreting pieces by Toldrà, Cassadó, and Morera; singer Mariona Escoda, who will sing songs from her new album on the 26th, accompanied by her band; Manu Guix, with a review of the songs that have established him as one of the most acclaimed performers of Catalan music (the 28th); and island singer-songwriter Tomeu Penya, who will close the festival on the 29th with a performance as part of his 45th Anniversary Tour. The concerts will be held in the church square and inside the church.

The festival is organized by the Campllong Town Council with the support of a board made up of people linked to the cultural, social, and economic fabric of the area, and with the support and collaboration of the residents of this small town in Gironès. In fact, the seed of the festival lies in the entrepreneurial spirit of the residents, who in August 2003 decided to organize a series of four concerts after the festival. That small musical series gradually transformed into the current Musicant, a festival that has always focused on music in Catalan and made in the Catalan Countries. Performers include Lluís Llach, Toti Soler, Marina Rossell, Maria del Mar Bonet, Els Pets, and Blaumut.
