Albares announces the evacuation of 40 Spaniards from Iran
This is the first phase of evacuation.

BarcelonaThe Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Government, José Manuel Albares, has announced the evacuation of approximately 40 Spanish citizens from Iran to Armenia, in the context of the escalating war with Israel and the mutual bombings of the last week.
"The first phase of the evacuation of Spaniards has concluded successfully. Residents and visitors in Tehran have safely crossed the border with Armenia, just over 40 Spaniards, as well as some citizens of other nationalities. We hope that within a few hours they will be flying to Spain, where they will be flown to Spain, as disseminated by the ministry.
In this regard, Albares confirmed that the Spaniards who have requested evacuation from Iran "are already safe in Armenia" and "will soon fly to Spain." Thus, in a message to the social network X, he thanked the Spanish embassy in Iran and the Ministry's consular emergency unit for "the magnificent work" they have done "in protecting Spanish citizens."
