Coosir: sustainable, local, and value-driven sewing

Idària's new sewing production line offers decent jobs specifically designed for migrant women from the municipality of Salt.

Redacció

Idaria is a non-profit worker and job placement cooperative that offers various services related to the green and circular economy, with the aim of promoting the labor inclusion of people experiencing social exclusion and thus contributing to improving the socioeconomic conditions of the area where it operates.

In 2024, the cooperative launched a new sewing production line, Coosir, a model of proximity and quality that offers decent, conciliatory jobs with adapted schedules, especially designed for migrant women in the municipality of Salt. It is a participatory, cooperative, and community-oriented workspace that seeks to generate real opportunities for social and economic transformation.

The project has been made possible thanks to the collaboration with the Qstura sewing and fashion school, which has trained women in vulnerable situations in pattern making and tailoring. The active participation of the Salta Women's Sewing Association has also been key in providing support, grounding, and collective empowerment. Currently, Coosir produces high-quality sportswear for the Salta-based company Tactic, which specializes in professional sports equipment, minimizing its CO₂ footprint through local and responsible production.

With Coosir, Idària is promoting a new production model based on sustainability, equity, and social justice. This is just the beginning, and Idaria is excited and determined to continue supporting inclusive models that put people at the center and care for the planet.
