The life of Ferran Adrià will be a 3Cat fiction series

BarcelonaThe life and gastronomic revolution of Ferran Adrià will make the leap to television in the form of a fictional series, as announced today by 3Cat at the San Sebastián Film Festival. The production, which is based on real events but will take dramatic and creative liberties, will premiere in the fall of 2026 on 3Cat and will consist of six episodes. The series will be titled Genesis and will be directed by David Pujol and produced by Minoria Absoluta and Fishcorb Media. Months after its premiere on the public television platform, it will also be available on Netflix.

The series will begin in the 1980s, when Ferran Adrià enters the kitchen of El Bulli and meets Juli Soler, a moment that marks the beginning of a gastronomic journey, and will culminate with the small restaurant in Cala Montjoi being named the best in the world. In parallel, the series will tell the life of a food critic, Glòria Canabach, who in 2025 returns from the United States and reopens a family restaurant with her niece, Lola. According to 3Cat, the series will not overlook the conflicts and confrontations that Adrià experienced on his way to achieving worldwide fame.
