SX3/33 cannot be the least-watched channel in Catalonia.

At the end of March, there is a devastating audience figure: SX3/33 has become the channel with the lowest audience in Catalonia, with a worrying 0.4% audience share, marking its lowest ever. This poor record coincides with the decline in the presence ofanime On the screen. It could be argued that children and young people have abandoned linear television in favor of platforms, but there is still a small group of tens of thousands of children in Catalonia who watch channels like Clan or Boing, in Spanish, and who deserve a more powerful alternative in Catalan, also in this content distribution window. Ultimately, they are your future adult viewers, and if you abandon them, they will take refuge in other symbolic and linguistic universes. And it will be difficult to win them back to Catalan.
The second, and no less important, drama is that the channel is also the Corporation's cultural center. And here, without any reservations, it is regrettable that, despite all the investments made to provide a competitive entertainment offering, the channel has not also invested in culture. It's not enough to have it appear on the channels. PowerPoints Now for the speeches: it needs to be on the screens. And if 3Cat finally develops a genuine thematic offering on culture, it will then be easy for the DTT channel to offer a slate of programs with a real presence and eyes. It's currently living off honorable efforts that I wouldn't want to underestimate, but it must be said that, budget-wise, the channel only gets the small stuff. This 0.4% should be a statistic that should haunt us. We can't ignore or minimize it in the name of the online exodus. SX3/33 must urgently abandon its position as the bottom-feeder, and a true commitment to culture on 3Cat is the heartbreaking factor.
