ARA announces for the third year four paid scholarships for university students in their third or fourth year of journalism for this summer. Those chosen will work in July and August in the newsroom, closely with the newspaper's professionals generating content, especially in the Society, International, Politics, and Economy sections. They will experience the day-to-day of ARA by actively participating in the editorial process, a great opportunity to test their skills and knowledge, stepping into a professional media outlet.

To apply, interested parties must send ARA their curriculum vitae and a 30-second video explaining why they would like to work at the newspaper and what contributions they believe they can make. They must send their application before April 30th to the email address becaestiu@ara.cat. The internships will be curricular or extracurricular and will be facilitated through the university where they are pursuing their studies.

Ten finalists

Once all applications have been received, a group of finalists will be selected, who will have to undergo a current affairs test and write a news article to demonstrate their journalistic skills. Of these, those who obtain the best evaluation will be invited for personal interviews, in which their suitability to join the newspaper's team will be assessed. From this process, which will take place during the month of May, the four scholarship holders will emerge, who will receive a remuneration of approximately 1,000 euros per month. The place of work is located at the newspaper's headquarters in the heart of Barcelona, in the El Raval neighborhood.

ARA is a newspaper created 15 years ago by a group of entrepreneurs from the journalistic, editorial, and business fields in Catalonia, committed to society, with a critical spirit but not settled in criticism. Over the years, it has become an informative benchmark in the country, a leader in Catalan and a pioneer in subscriptions throughout the State. A medium that informs and reflects on current affairs in different formats –print and digital, written and audiovisual– through free and committed journalism.

With more than 140 employees, who are the newspaper's main asset, and an extensive and qualitative roster of collaborators, ARA believes in teamwork, flexibility, and individual and collective responsibility to offer rigorous, honest, and quality journalism.
