RTVE reveals what Broncano and Lalachus earned for the chimes
The broadcast returned La 1 to the lead in audiences in Spain
On December 31st, at midnight, several bells rang. The obligatory twelve to welcome 2025, but RTVE also rang a thirteenth bell: snatching the traditional leadership of Cristina Pedroche for Antena 3 thanks to the signing of David Broncano and the comedian Lalachus. Now, thanks to a parliamentary question, the fourteenth and fifteenth bells have been revealed: what the two presenters charged for assuming the broadcast.
According to the public entity, the budget of the program was 248,500 euros, of which 66,000 euros corresponded to the duo of presenters. However, the corporation does not clarify how this amount was distributed or if it was equitable between the presenter of The revolt and one of its collaborators. The figure indicates a slight increase compared to the 61,000 euros that the three people in charge of being in Madrid's Puerta del Sol received the previous year: Ramón García, Ana Mena and Jennifer Hermoso. RTVE has clarified that the figures for this New Year are not yet final, because the accounts must be settled.
The broadcast on December 31 was not only notable for the return of La 1 to the first position in Spain – in Catalonia, TV3 led with 32.2% compared to 27.4% for La 1 and 18.9% for Antena 3 – but it also brought a tail. Lalachus showed a religious image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, manipulated to show the face of the cow from the program Grand PrixUltra-Catholic organisations such as Hazte Oír and Abogados Cristianos have taken the case to court.
