29.2% of Catalans connect to 3Cat at least once a month

BarcelonaFirst aggregated audience data in Catalonia, combining linear television consumption and home devices, including platforms and social media. According to this new methodology by Kantar, the company that manages audience meters in Spain, 3Cat is the third-highest-performing platform in Catalonia: 29.2% of citizens connect at least once a month, surpassed only by Prime Video (55.1%) and Netflix (51.8%), with these added merits.

If the ranking is expanded to include video services in general and social media, it becomes fifth, behind YouTube (leader with 81%) and TikTok (54.2%). These figures correspond to the average from January to April and also include data from Disney+ (20.3%), Movistar+ (19.8%), Atresplayer (15.9%), RTVE Play (14.3%), Max (12.1%), and Twitch (10.0%).

The Catalan Corporation of Audiovisual Media organized an event this Tuesday to present this data and, incidentally, update the scoreboard of its platform, which will be two years old in October. In total, 1,300,000 million registrations have been made (and it is considered that after a registration there may be more than one viewer), which have generated 262 million reproductions of one of its 342,000 hours of content. "In a year and a half of existence, the 3Cat platform is ahead of most of the platforms with which we compete at the national level," highlighted Rosa Romà, president of the Corporation. "Our reason for being, language, is a rising value. A differential fact with respect to the competition that allows us to position ourselves at the top of on-demand video and audio consumption."
