The United States launches a new wave of attacks against Iran for the third consecutive night
Tehran has responded to the American offensive with new attacks on Jordan and Bahrain
Washington and Tehran are experiencing a new escalation of tension after the United States launched a new wave of attacks against Iranian targets and Iran retaliated with offensives against Washington's allied countries in the region. For the third consecutive night, the United States Army Central Command (Centcom) has launched a streak of attacks against Iranian territory after US President Donald Trump assured that they would "hit" Tehran hard during the early hours of this Tuesday. As reported by the military command via X, these bombings aim to impose "a high cost" on Iranian forces and continue "degrading Iran's ability to attack innocent civilians and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz".
Centcom has confirmed "successfully" hitting military targets in locations such as Bushehr, Chah Bahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas, all with the aim of "further diminishing Iran's capacity to attack commercial shipping." The operation, which lasted five hours, was carried out using precision munitions against coastal defense systems, missile and drone facilities, as well as Iranian maritime capabilities, according to details in a statement.
In response to the latest US offensive, Tehran has launched new attacks against Jordan and Bahrain. According to the Jordanian state agency, Petra News, Amman has intercepted and shot down four missiles "that had violated Jordanian airspace from Iranian territory early Tuesday morning". For its part, the Iranian agency Tasnim has reported the destruction of an air traffic control radar that allegedly belongs to the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, which houses US military bases. "The Revolutionary Guard has attacked and destroyed with its missiles and drones ammunition depots, a satellite communications center, and the residence building of US forces at the Jufair base, in Bahrain," explains the Revolutionary Guard's statement cited by Tasnim, in the context of the new cross-bombings between Washington and Tehran.
However, the new US offensive comes after Trump announced the re-establishment of the naval blockade against Iran and stated that Washington would assume the role of "guardian of the Strait of Hormuz". The US president has stated that other countries will have to compensate the United States with 20% of the transported cargo for the costs of ensuring security in this maritime route and has assured that they will not continue to protect for free the nations that benefit from the transit through the Strait of Hormuz. In response to Trump's statements, the Iranian Army has warned that it will not allow "under any circumstances" the United States to "interfere in the management of the Strait of Hormuz".
In the last few hours, the Ministry of Interior of Bahrain has reported three times the activation of alarm sirens, with which they ask citizens to head to safe places.
